How Commercial Rodent Control Differs from Residential

Several structural differences:

  • Tamper-Resistant Bait Stations

Required for commercial use. Standard bait boxes are tamper-resistant, locked, and labeled per EPA and Missouri Department of Agriculture requirements. Children, pets, and non-target wildlife cannot access the bait.

  • Exterior Perimeter Program

Stations are placed on the building exterior perimeter, every 50 to 100 feet. This helps catch rodents before they enter the building and is one of the most effective commercial rodent control measures.

  • Activity Mapping

Each station is numbered and mapped. Activity at each station is tracked over time, and trend data shows where pressure is increasing.

  • Interior Monitoring for Food Handling Areas

Snap traps or non-toxic monitoring devices are used in food handling areas, not bait, which would be inappropriate near food.

  • Documentation That Satisfies Inspectors

Service records, station maps, activity logs, and treatment records are maintained for inspection needs.

  • Structural Exclusion Focus

Entry points are identified and sealed so the next mouse does not move in.

Common Commercial Rodent Species

Three species dominate Missouri commercial rodent calls:

Service Components

Standard commercial rodent service includes:

  • Exterior bait stations on building perimeter — tamper-resistant, locked, EPA-labeled
  • Bait station activity inspection at every visit
  • Interior monitoring stations in non-food and food handling areas
  • Structural inspection for new entry points
  • Documentation of all station locations on a site map
  • Activity log updated at every visit
  • Exterior building inspection for rodent signs, including droppings, runways, burrow openings, and gnawing
  • Recommendations for sealing entry points
  • Treatment records with EPA registration numbers
  • Coordination with your facility’s pest activity log

For active interior infestations beyond routine monitoring, additional treatment includes intensive interior trapping, structural exclusion work, and contamination cleanup as needed.

Tamper-Resistant Stations Explained

Commercial bait stations are different from residential bait products:

  • Tamper-resistant locking design. Children, pets, and non-target wildlife cannot access the bait inside.
  • Anchored to the surface.
  • EPA registration number and label visible on every station.
  • Numbered and mapped.
  • Inspected at every service visit.

For specific situations, such as food storage warehouses or FDA-regulated facilities, non-toxic monitoring stations or mechanical traps may replace bait stations. We coordinate based on your facility’s requirements.

Documentation and Compliance — What You Get for Your Inspectors and Auditors

For commercial rodent service, documentation is typically the most rigorous element of any commercial pest service.

Standard documentation includes:

  • Tamper-resistant station map, including locations and identifiers
  • Activity log at each station
  • Treatment records with EPA registration numbers
  • Structural recommendation log
  • Monthly digital summary

For food code compliance, AIB audits, SQF certification, FSMA documentation, or insurance carrier requirements, audit-format records are available.

Our 6-Step Commercial Rodent Control Process

Commercial Property Inspection

We walk your entire facility , loading docks, false ceilings, utility runs, break rooms, and storage areas. We map all active zones and identify every entry point before recommending anything.
STEP 1

A Treatment Plan Built for Your Business

A restaurant needs a different approach than a warehouse or clinic. We design your plan around your layout, operating hours, staff schedule, and any industry compliance requirements.
STEP 2

Entry Point Sealing and Exclusion

Traps alone don't solve the problem. We seal every gap, crack, and utility penetration rodents use to enter using professional-grade materials that hold long-term.
STEP 3

Targeted Baiting and Trapping

We place tamper-resistant bait stations and commercial traps based on how rodents actually move through your building. All placements follow EPA guidelines and are fully documented.
STEP 4

Sanitation and Prevention Guidance

We show your team what conditions attract rodents, waste storage issues, food debris, drainage problems, clutter and give you practical steps to reduce those risks going forward.
STEP 5

Follow-Up Monitoring and Ongoing Protection

Rodent control is not a one-visit job. We schedule follow-up checks, monitor bait stations, and confirm exclusion is holding. Ongoing maintenance plans are available for year-round protection.
STEP 6
One team for all of it.

Most companies handle just one — pests, or termites, or wildlife — and refer the rest out. Titan handles all three as one local team. One call, one company, one crew that knows your property.

Our guarantee is simple.

If a pest is covered by your plan and it comes back, we re-service at no charge — no matter what. No fine print.

A real local team.

Reach out and you’ll get a prompt call-back from people who know Springfield and Kansas City — not a distant call center.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Exterior perimeter stations catch rodents before they enter. The single most effective commercial rodent control measure is keeping rodents OUT — not just dealing with them after they’re inside. Stations every 50-100 feet around the perimeter intercept rodents traveling along the building edge.

Yes. Tamper-resistant locking design — children, pets, and non-target wildlife cannot access the bait inside. EPA registration and labeling visible on every station. Anchored to the surface.

Correct. In food handling areas, treatment uses snap traps or non-toxic monitoring devices — NOT bait, which would be inappropriate near food. EPA registration restrictions and Missouri Department of Agriculture rules govern what can be used where.

Depends on scope. A few mice in a typical commercial setting typically resolves within 2-4 weeks of intensive trapping plus structural exclusion. Larger infestations or rat infestations may take 4-8 weeks. The key is structural exclusion.

On-site service binder with tamper-resistant station map, activity log at each station, treatment records with EPA registration numbers, structural recommendation log, and monthly digital summary. For specific audit formats (AIB, SQF, FSMA, food code), records formatted to match audit requirements.

Initial exterior perimeter setup $500-$1,500. Ongoing monthly or bi-monthly service typically included in standard commercial service pricing. Large facility setup $1,500-$5,000+. Active infestation intensive treatment $500-$2,000+. Structural exclusion $200-$2,000+ depending on scope.

Jordan came out today to provide an estimate for services involving mice, moles, ants, spiders, and wasps for a new home we recently bought (and a creepy, icky combination to move in with). He was thorough, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He helped to point out all the possible entry points for pests and how they can help to treat our problem and prevent any future issues. He was super informative, relatable, and showed me the type of confidence guaranteeing a solution to all our problems, which is why we are scheduling with them! No other quotes necessary. Absolutely would 100/10 recommend this company for your pest control needs! Thank you Jordan!

Jordan was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in identifying my pest/rodent concerns and addressing them in a very timely manner. He was very personable and answered every question I had, right down to showing me what the bait looked like in case one of my dogs (who is a digger) happened to retrieve the bait they had done a great job of securing. Highly highly recommend asking for Jordan for all of your pest control needs!

Eric came out to assist with our mice and bug problem and he was prompt, super helpful and honest with what we needed to do to solve the issue. He started work right away on the issue and explained everything he was doing thoroughly. Their pricing also seems to be very reasonable. Overall had a great experience and would recommend!!

I had Jordan come out to handle our mice issue. This was my 2nd opinion on the matter and Jordan and Titan Pest were the far superior option. Their original diagnosis uncovered much more than the large chain pest control entity. Jordan was friendly, personable, knowledgeable and great communicator. He took care of us and our home.
