Selling or Buying a Home? Get the Termite Inspection Your Closing Needs

A termite report is often one of the last items before closing, and it’s easy to leave it until the last minute. If your lender, buyer or agent has asked for a wood-destroying insect (WDI) inspection, we’ll get it done on the official NPMA-33 form, in Springfield and Kansas City.

What a WDI inspection is

A WDI inspection is a visual inspection for termites and other wood-destroying insects, written up on the NPMA-33 Wood Destroying Insect Inspection Report. It’s the standard form used for FHA, VA and conventional loans in Missouri and Kansas. Your lender decides whether one is required.

What we check

A trained Titan technician inspects the accessible areas of the property: the crawl space or basement, attic, garage, exterior and outbuildings. We look for visible evidence of termites and other wood-destroying insects, and we note the conditions that attract them, like moisture and wood touching soil. We don’t open walls or move stored items, so the report covers what can be seen on the day.

If we spot powderpost beetles or old house borers, we note them on the report. We don’t treat those, and we’ll tell you so.

What it costs

$175 to $400, depending on your home’s size. Homes up to 2,000 sq ft start at $175. Homes over 5,000 sq ft get a quote from a manager. The price on this page is the price.

How fast

We usually schedule the inspection within a few business days, and your NPMA-33 report is usually emailed the same day as the inspection. Tell us your closing date when you call, and we’ll do our best to fit it.

Who can order it

Homeowners, buyers, sellers, real estate agents, title companies and property managers can all order the inspection. Whoever orders it is invoiced, by card or ACH.

If we find termites

We’ll show you what we found and explain your options plainly, so the buyer and seller can decide before closing. Our termite protection plan, Titan Termite Defense, uses bait stations. It starts at $99 for the first visit and $99 a month, and your exact plan is priced at your free inspection.

Who does the inspection

Trained Titan technicians, working under our founder Jacob Ingledue’s licences: Missouri Commercial Applicator License #C23401 and Kansas Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certificate #307587.
