Yes — through live exclusion only. All bats are protected under Missouri Wildlife Code; lethal control is illegal. We use one-way exclusion devices that allow bats to leave but not return. Important: exclusion is generally NOT performed during maternity season (typically May 15 to August 15) because flightless young could be trapped inside walls and die. If you have an active bat colony during maternity season, we inspect, document, and schedule exclusion for after August 15. For an immediate single bat in your living space (which can happen during summer warm spells), we can capture and release that individual bat. Can you kill the snake in my yard?
Generally no — because Missouri law generally doesn’t allow it. Per Missouri Wildlife Code, snakes are classified as nongame species and it’s technically illegal to kill them except in direct self-defense from a venomous species threatening immediate harm. Missouri has 49 snake species; only 5 are venomous (Eastern Copperhead, Northern Cottonmouth, and three rattlesnake species). Most calls we receive involve non-venomous species.
